Die Artikulationen des Cello- und Kontrabass-Ensembles entsprechen naturgemäß denen des Vienna Instruments Orchestral Strings I. Auch hier kommen neue Spielweisen hinzu, die in der Pro Edition nicht verfügbar waren: die schnellen Intervall-Performances in legato-, marcato und spiccato-Spielweisen, Perfomance-Triller, Repetition-Performances „harsh“, spiccato, pizzicato; künstliche Flageoletts sowie verschiedene ponticello-Spielweisen, also nahe am Steg gestrichene Töne. Der Tonumfang wurde bei beiden Ensembles erhöht, er reicht bei den Staccati und Sustains der Celli nun bis zum A5, bei den Bässen bis zum G4. Stimmführer der beiden Streichergruppen sind der Argentinier Rubén Dubrovsky, Gründer des Bach Consort Wien, sowie Martin Deuring, international tätiger Solobassist und Gründungsmitglied des Kammermusikensembles „Ensemble Plus“.
